Location

The Omega School is conveniently located within the facilities of Omega Recording Studios just outside Washington, D.C. in the North Bethesda/Rockville Corridor. We are easily reached by car.

  • From downtown Washington: Wisconsin Avenue continues into Rockville as Rockville Pike. Turn right on Twinbrook Parkway, and follow to the 3rd right onto Fishers Lane. The School is at 5609 Fishers Lane, one-half block down Fishers Lane on the left.
  • From Washington Beltway in Maryland: Take Route 355 North toward Rockville and turn right on Twinbrook Parkway as above.
  • From the Washington Beltway in Virginia: Take the Route 270 spur west toward Frederick. Exit at Montrose Road East toward Rockville. Follow to Route 355, turn left, and turn right on Twinbrook Parkway as above.

We are a block and one-half from both the Twinbrook MetroRail Station (take the Red Line toward Shady Grove) and the MetroBus System. Consult our website for detailed directions.

Classrooms

During the course of our programs, our four professionally designed studios actually become your learning environment. Lectures and workshops are held in specially equipped classrooms. You will be instructed in an atmosphere that is both professional yet informal.

Admission Requirements

Omega's Control Room CThe Omega Studios’ School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences is open to all men and women who are proficient in the English language. A high-school diploma (or GED) is required for entrance into any of the Omega programs. If an applicant cannot show evidence of a high school diploma (or GED), he or she will be required to submit to a standardized ability-to-benefit test, at no cost, to insure reading and math skills commensurate with those required to complete our programs. Additionally, applicants will be required to take a standardized reading comprehension test; the purpose of which is to insure that the applicant can read and comprehend at a minimum 12th grade level.
